Title:
SULFUR-CONTAINING ALLYL CARBONATE COMPOUND, RESIN AND LENS USING THE SAME AND THEIR PRODUCTION
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3891652
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new compound having a low viscosity, a low smell and excellent storage stability, capable of providing a sulfur-containing carbonate- based resin low in dispersion, high in refractive index, excellent in impact resistance, scratching resistance, processability, etc., colorless and transparent free from optical strain, useful for lenses for glasses, a lens for a camera, etc.
SOLUTION: This sulfur-containing allyl carbonate is shown by the formula. The compound of the formula is obtained, for example, by dripping 0.5-2 equivalents of a halogenated allyl formate such as allyl chloroformate on 4- mercaptomethyl-3,6-dithiaoctane-1,8-dithiol previously made into a salt with a base, in the presence of a base such as sodium hydroxide, and carrying out a condensation reaction optionally in the presence of a solvent at 0-10°C under normal pressure while neutralizing a generated hydrogen halide with the base. A resin obtained by polymerizing the objective compound is useful as a material for a grazing material, a coating material and an adhesive besides an optical element material.
