PURPOSE: To accomplish electric discharge truing on a device in a super abrasive grain metal bond wheel by means of a comparatively simple structure by providing a metal bond abrasive grain layer for actual grinding and an abrasive grain layer for electrode formation used in shape formation or shape correction by means of electric discharge truing on the same axial line.
CONSTITUTION: The first flange part, 1a and the second flange part 1b are arranged in the front end and the rear end of an alloy 1 made of iron or an aluminum alloy, and a metal bond abrasive grain layer 2 for actual grinding is fixed on the outer circumference of the first flange part 1a, while an abrasive grain layer 3 for electrode formation is fixed in the second flange part 1b. A run-out, which is generated when a wheel is rotated on a run-out reference surface, is measured by means of a dial gauge and is corrected so as to be the predetermined run-out amount, and then, the wheel is installed in a grinding spindle by means of a mounting flange and a pressing nut. When this super abrasive grain metal bond wheel is used, electric discharge truing can be carried out with the wheel installed in the grinding machine without requiring any complex device such as a NC device.
