Abstract:
To perform stable premixed compression ignition combustion in the cold condition of a supercharged diesel engine.SOLUTION: The supercharged diesel engine includes an electric supercharger (61) to be driven by electric energy to supercharge intake air, an EGR passage (81) communicating an exhaust passage (50) on the further downstream side than a catalyst (55a) and an intake passage (30) on the further upstream side than the electric supercharger (61), an openable/closable EGR valve (83) provided in the EGR passage (81), and a temperature detection part (SN2) for detecting the temperature of an engine body (1). When the engine is confirmed to be in a cold condition on the basis of a detection value of the temperature detection part (SN2), the electric supercharger (61) is driven to supercharge intake air, the EGR valve (83) is opened to recirculate exhaust gas through the EGR passage (81), and then fuel is injected from a fuel injection valve (15) at such a predetermined timing that the fuel is ignited late after completely injected.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
