PURPOSE: To provide the supercharging system of a diesel engine with a supercharger which improves engine performance through improvement of apparent supercharger efficiency and reduces the generation of NOx through combustion in an engine owing to lowering of the temperature of scavenging air.
CONSTITUTION: Air delivered from the compressor 4 of a supercharger and flowing through an air cooler 5 is fed to an expander turbine 6. An air temperature is reduced through expansion and the air is fed to a main engine 1. After outside air is sucked in and compressed by an expander compressor 7 directly coupled to the expander turbine 6 for drive, the outside air is guided to the compressor 4 of the supercharger. This way causes the feed of feed air, compressed by a series two-stage compressor, to an engine.
