A superconducting coil 101 is formed by winding superconducting wire 11S so as to make a superconducting current flow therein. The superconducting coil 101 includes linear portions 10a and 10b, curved portions 20a and 20b and a dummy wire 11D. In the linear portions 10a and 10b, the superconducting wire 11S extends in a linear shape in a plan view. In the curved portions 20a and 20b, the superconducting wire 11S extends in a curved shape in a plan view. The dummy wire 11D is placed along the inner periphery of the curved portions 20a and 20b, and disposed in such a manner that the superconducting current does not flow therein.
