Abstract:
PURPOSE:To provide a heat pump which does not require a high pressure by employing a superconductive substance as cooling medium which assumes the superconducting state on the high temperature side and the normal conducting state on the low temperature side for the purpose of performing the heat pump action. CONSTITUTION:Where the magnetic field is set such that there exists a superconductive state in the low magnetic field on the high temperature side, the superconductive substance 1 moves to the low temperature side as the belt 4 is driven, where it loses the superconducting state because of the high magnetic field on the low temperature side to become a normal conductive substance. Since it absorbs heat from the low temperature side in this process, the temperature on the low temperature side is reduced. The superconductive substance 1 moves on to the high temperature side as the belt 4 continues to be driven, where it regains the superconducting state as the high magnetic field is lost on the high temperature side. Since it releases heat in this process, the temperature on the high temperature side is increased. The heat pump action is performed this way. Further, by modulating the values of the low and high magnetic fields, the heat pump can yield a set temperature differential.
