PURPOSE: To produce a superconducting thin tape having stable characteristics by successively laminating an intermediate layer of Mg oxide, etc., having a specified thickness, a high-temp. superconducting oxide layer having a specified thickness and a passivation layer of SiO2, etc., having a specified thickness on a metal coil substrate.
CONSTITUTION: An intermediate layer having 0.1-1μm thickness, a superconducting layer having 0.1-5μm thickness and a passivation layer having 0.1-1μm thickness are successively laminated on a metal coil substrate. The intermediate layer is a layer of at least one kind of oxide selected among the oxides of Mg, Zr, Al and Ti, SrTiO3, BaTiO3 and BaZrO3. The superconducting layer is a high-temp. superconducting oxide layer. The passivation layer is a layer of SiO2 and/or Si3N4. A superconducting thin tape minimizing the deterioration of the characteristics and having superior formability can be produced.
