PURPOSE: To effectively use a superconducting wire for a wiring material or the like while maintaining the excellent superconductive characteristics including the high critical temperature by using oxide fibers as core materials, forming composite oxide superconducting material layers in the lengthy direction, and controlling the crystallinity of the core materials.
CONSTITUTION: An oxide is formed into fibers as core materials 10 and 20, composite oxide superconducting material layers 11 and 12 are continuously formed on surfaces of the core materials 10 and 20 in the lengthy direction of the core materials 10 and 20. The composite oxide is thereby made easy to form the specific crystal structure exerting the effective superconductive characteristic and exerts the high superconductive characteristic not attainable by a mere linear sintered body. This superconducting wire rod can be effectively used for a wiring material or the like while maintaining the excellent superconductive characteristics including the high critical temperature.
