Abstract:
To achieve both a reduction in sonic boom and jet noise when a supersonic aircraft takes off and lands at an airport which are the main issues with environmental compatibility of the supersonic aircraft.SOLUTION: A supersonic aircraft comprises: a shielding body which reduces sonic boom, due to an engine exhaust stream discharged from a jet engine stored in an engine nacelle attached to a fuselage of an airframe, through shielding the engine exhaust stream; and an exhaust nozzle which is installed at an exhaust port of the engine nacelle, reduces a high-frequency content of jet noise through generating a sound source of the high-frequency content at a position where the shield body can shield the high-frequency content of the engine exhaust stream, and reduces a low-frequency content of the jet noise through enhancing mixing of the low-frequency content of the engine exhaust stream with an external air flow.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 9
