The supply article managing apparatus includes a state information storage means which stores first state information, a supply article information reading means which reads out identification information of supply articles and second state information from a storage medium, a residual quantity detection means which detects the residual quantity of supply articles, an information storage means which stores the second state information and a second residual quantity in relation to the identification information as one supply hysteresis, and a misappropriation detection means which detects misappropriation of supply articles based on a comparison result between the first state information read by the supply article information reading means when the supply articles are loaded and the second state information, and a comparison result between the first residual quantity detected by the residual quantity detection means when the supply articles are loaded and the second residual quantity stored in relation to the identification information in the information storage means.
