PURPOSE: To prevent trouble at the time of reversed chopsticks or one piece chopsticks being mixed when half-split chopsticks are projected and delivered into the next stocker.

CONSTITUTION: The device consists of a projecting device 4 which projects half-split chopsticks 9 on a mount 2 continuing from a chute 15 guiding half-split chopsticks 9, and a switch device 7 which is equipped near a chopsticks projecting transfer passage and stops the operation of the device 4 by detecting crowded out chopsticks when chopsticks 9 are crowded out and protruded from the chopsticks 9 regular projecting transfer passage. The device 4 operates in reciprocation, and projects chopsticks in order which are to be mounted on the mount 2. When a one piece chopstick is mounted on the mount 2, the next pair of chopsticks is mounted on the mount 2 together with the one piece chopstick on account of chopsticks width. A hitting piece hits the one niece chopstick and the next pair of chopsticks simultaneously and projects them. In this instance, the one piece chopstick is crowded out of the regular projecting transfer passage for a pair of chopsticks and transferred. This is detected by means of the device 7, and the device 4 is stopped, and trouble can be prevented.
