A great number of support pieces 12 are arranged in the longer direction of a slay 11 in front of the slay 11. A delivering repair head 13 which holds a weft and inserts it into an opening between warps is traveled on the line of the support pieces 12. A repair head 14 which receives the weft from the delivering repair head 13 and retreating from the opening of the warps is also traveled on the line. Each top part 122 of the support pieces 12 is in a flat shape and recessed parts 123 are formed at the central parts of the top parts 122.
