Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a support structure of a foot pedal that can repress retreating and lifting motion of a foot pedal more reliably than existent structures when a frontal vehicle collision or the like causes a large frontal load input on the vehicle front.
SOLUTION: The support structure of a foot pedal is so designed that the front and rear of a pedal bracket 2 for supporting a foot pedal 1 in a suspended relation are supported respectively on a dash panel 60 and a cowling 61 and that the rear support of the pedal bracket 2 is released when receiving a load of a given value or larger from the vehicle front side. The cowling 61 is mounted with a pressure member 3 for pressing the pedal bracket 2 down according to the deformation of the cowling 61 after the rear support of the pedal bracket 2 is released.
