PURPOSE: To increase the yield of the composite lens and its supporting structure and to reduce the cost of production by utilizing a gasket which is heretofore used only for limiting the forming diameter of a resin layer as it is as the supporting structure of the composite lens, thereby eliminating the need for an operation to remove the gasket.
CONSTITUTION: The annular gasket 13 is utilized for supporting and fixing the composite aspherical lens L1 without removing the gasket even after the formation of the aspherical resin layer 12. The position in the diametral direction of a base plate glass lens 11 of the composite aspherical lens L1 is determined when this glass lens is fitted into a fitting hole 21a of a lens frame 21 in the state of removing a retaining ring 22 according to this supporting structure. The composite aspherical lens L1 is held and fitted between an inner flange 21d and the retaining ring 22 when the retaining ring 22 is screwed to internal screw threads 21c and the annular gasket 13 is pressed by its end face. The optical axis direction of the lens is thereby determined. The annular gasket 13 indispensable at the time of molding the aspherical resin layer 12 is utilized for fixing the composite aspherical lens L1 in such a manner and, therefore, the need for the operation to remove the annular gasket 13 is eliminated.
