Abstract:
PURPOSE: To correct the deformation of the side wall of an instrument panel by extending the edge of a steering support member bracket fixed on a front pillar inner to the car body rear side and attaching the extension part with the side wall reverse surface of the instrument panel.
CONSTITUTION: A front pillar 3 is constituted of an inner panel 2 and an outer panel 4, and the body part 5a of a steering supporting member bracket 5 having an L shape is welding-joined with the inner panel 2. Further, a holding tool 6 is installed at the erection part 5e of the bracket 5 by a bolt 7, and one edge part of a steering support member 8 is held. In this case, the body 5a of the steering support member bracket 5 is extended to the rear part of the car body, getting over the rear edge flange 3a of the front pillar 3. The reverse surfaces of the left and right side walls 1a of the instrument panel 1 are attached on the extension part 5b, and the instrument panel 1 is assembled on the car body.
