The surface acoustic wave filter of a horizontal mode combined resonator type is constituted so that the ratio of the number (M) of input-side comb-like interdigital transducers 3 to the number (N) of output-side comb-like interdigital transducers 4 (M/N or N/M) ranges from 1/11 to 3/8.
