To provide a surface coating agent usable both for a glass surface and a coated film, and having good durability.
The surface coating agent is obtained by preparing a mixture containing 21-24 wt.% fluororesin, 13-15 wt.% silicone resin, 6-8 wt.% silicone oil, 20-29 wt.% inorganic powder, 31-33 wt.% hydrocarbon-based and/or petroleum-based solvent, 5-8 wt.% total of a surfactant and water, and 0-1 wt.% wax, the total being 100 wt.%, heating the resulting mixture, evaporating 20-35% of water and a low boiling point component containing the hydrocarbon-based and/or petroleum-based solvent from the mixture to prepare a main agent, cooling the main agent, and adding and mixing a fixing agent to the cooled main agent, the amount of the fixing agent being 0.5-1.5 wt.% of the main agent.
