PURPOSE: To enable ball-like substances to be held while a certain degree of free movement is applied to the substances by a method wherein an upper half portion of each of the ball-like substances is held by a net-like member of which net size is smaller than an outer diameter of each of the ball-like substances, each of the ball-like substances is prevented from being dropped by lower layers of the ball-like substances and then a burner head having a desired shape is formed.
CONSTITUTION: Ball-like substances 2 made of heat-resistant material are arranged in upper and lower three layers. The upper layer is held by a net-like member 3 made of stainless steel and the like. In case that an outer diameter of each of the ball-like substances 2 is 3W5mm or so, a mesh size is set to be 4.5W5.5 mesh, thereby only the upper half part of each of the ball-like substances is projected out of the meshes. The lower portions of the ball-like substances 2 are held by applying a holding member 4 such as a punched plate and a metallic net and the like. When mixed gas is supplied to the lower portions of the ball-like substances, the mixed gas passes through clearances between the ball-like substances and then ignited. With this arrangement, the net-like member may not be damaged even if it is used for a long period of time, and the ball-like substance in the upper-most layer may be moved freely under a circumstance where a heating operation and a cooling operation are repeated and so cracks or breakage may be prevented from being generated in the ball-like substance.
