PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the frequency deviation of a surface mount antenna caused by aging or when dropped by securing the electromagnetic field coupling at a place near the ground electrode of a radiation electrode via the gap capacitance or the substrate capacitance.
SOLUTION: A ground electrode 2 and a feeder electrode 3 are formed on an end face 1a of a substrate 1 via a gap g1. A through-hole 4 is formed on the substrate 1 from the face 1a through its opposite end face 1b, and a radiation electrode 5 is formed on the inner surface of the through-hole 4. One of both ends of the electrode 5 is connected to the electrode 2, and an open terminal 5a is formed on the face 1b at the other end of the electrode 5. Then the electromagnetic field coupling is secured between both electrodes 3 and 5 by the capacitance generated in the gap g1 and via a part of the electrode 2. The electrode 3 or 5 or the opening part of the terminal 5a of the electrode 5 is scraped off for the frequency control. Then the degree of coupling is controlled by the enlargement or reduction of the gap g1.
