Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface mount antenna and a communication equipment using this antenna to attain excitation via capacitance with no contact and also to easily secure matching of the antenna and the equipment despite its compact structure.
SOLUTION: A ground electrode 2 is primarily formed on the rear surface of a substrate 1. A radiation electrode 3 of a stripline is connected to the electrode 2 via one of its both ends and extended up to a position near an end face 1b opposite to an end face 1a of the substrate 1 over the surface of the electrode 3 via the face 1a. Thus the electrode 3 forms an open end. Then an exciting electrode 4 is formed at the tip part of the open end and reaches the face 1b and the rear surface from the upper surface of the substrate 1 via a gap(g).
