PURPOSE: To connect a surface mounting type antenna to a communication equipment by the shortest distance without using a connector by forming a feeding electrode to be connected to a radiation electrode on the surface of the antenna.
CONSTITUTION: An approximately cylindrical through hole 2 is formed on the inside of a dielectric substrate 1 formed like an approximately rectangular parallelopiped so as to be opened to opposite side faces and a radiation electrode 2a consisting of Cu, etc., is formed on the inside of the hole 2. A feeding hole 4 is formed from the bottom 3 of the substrate 1 up to the hole 2 and a feeding electrode 4a is formed on the inside of the hole 4. A feeding electrode 5 is formed on the periphery of the hole 4 formed on the bottom 3 and connected to the electrode 2a through the electrode 4a. In addition, side electrodes 6a, 6b are formed on both side faces of the substrate 1 to which the hole 2 are opened and fixing electrodes 7 for fixing a substrate to be mounted are formed on four corners of the bottom 3 to constitute a surface mounting type antenna. The surface mounting of the antenna is executed by connecting the feeding electrode 5 and the fixing electrodes 7 to the wiring of a printed board by soldering or the like. Consequently the antenna is allowed to feed electricity to the electrode 2a and send a high frequency signal.
