To provide a surface mounted downlight reduced in the number of components to simplify its structure and allowing protection of hook terminals.
The downlight 1 includes a mounting member 2 fixed to a mounting surface S or a ceiling surface and a downlight body 11 demountably supported by the mounting member. The mounting member 2 has a pair of connecting parts 5 receiving power supply. A protective protrusion 17 and the pair of hook terminals 19 are provided on a body end member 13 defining an end disposed on the downlight body 11 on the side of the mounting member. The pair of hook terminals 19 are mechanically and electrically connected to the connecting parts 5 and are disposed within an inner area surrounded by the protective protrusion 17. The protective protrusion 17 is formed higher than the hook terminals 19 so as to function as a leg when the downlight body 11 is set lengthwise.
