To discriminate the presence or absence of an antiglare layer in an optical member by the appearance while a surface protection film is bonded and covered.
A protection film 1 bonding and covering a surface of an optical member 2 indicates haze of 3 to 8% when the protection film is bonded on the surface of the optical member and the optical member has not an antiglare layer 21 on the surface and haze of 13 to 20% when it has the antiglare layer. Consequently, a bonding condition excelling in transparency when the optical member has no antiglare layer is formed, and a bonding condition in which many cavities exist between the optical member and the antiglare layer when it has the antiglare layer is formed so that light diffusion property is increased. As a result, it is possible to discriminate the presence or absence of the antiglare layer as turbidity such as white turbidity or haze by the appearance, prevent bonding error of the optical member on a visual confirmation side and a visual confirmation rear surface side, and provide a liquid crystal display device with satisfactory manufacture efficiency and yield.
