To provide a surface and rear surface inversion device capable of shortening processing time required for inverting a surface and a rear surface of a paper sheet.
In this surface and rear surface inversion device 10, the sheet S is nipped between an inversion belt 30 and an inversion part 20 when the sheet S is carried in while the inversion belt 30 is driven by a driving means 40, follows moving of the inversion belt 30, and moves in the direction of conveyance. Since the inversion belt 30 is stretched along oblique direction for the longitudinal direction of the inversion part 20, inversion of the sheet S by about 180 degrees becomes possible. Since this inversion belt 30 makes inversion of the sheet S by about 180 degrees possible by a first endless inversion belt 21 in a condition in which it is twisted by about 90 degrees and a second endless inversion belt 22 which is adjacent to the first endless inversion belt 21 and is twisted by about 90 degrees in a condition in which it is extended in the longitudinal direction, the belt can be easily stretched when compared with a case where one inversion belt 30 is stretched for the inversion part 20. The surface and the rear surface of the sheet S can be securely inverted and processing time required for inverting the surface and the rear surface of the sheet can be shortened by utilizing this inversion belt 30.
