To provide a surface and rear surface turnover device capable of shortening processing time required by inversion of a surface and a rear surface of a paper sheet.
In this surface and rear surface turnover device 10, when a paper sheet S is carried in while an inversion belt 31 is driven by a driving means M, it is pulled into an inversion means P from a pair of pulling-in rollers 22. The inversion means P is composed of the inversion belt 31 and an inversion part 30. The paper sheet S is nipped between the inversion belt 31 and the inversion part 30, follows moving of the inversion belt 31, and moves in the direction of conveyance. The paper sheet S is conveyed toward a lower part in the longitudinal direction of the inversion part 30 along the inversion belt stretched obliquely in the inversion part 30. Since a line of central axis in the direction of conveyance of the pair of pulling-in rollers 22 is offset with a line of central axis of the inversion part, processing time required in inversion of the surface and the rear surface of the paper sheet is shortened, and smooth inversion operation is realized.
