PURPOSE: To obtain a rubber composition, excellent in balance between a high- and a low-temperature regions and durability, having a low electrical resistance, good in dispersibility and useful for tire treads, etc., by blending a rubber component with a specific carbon black having the surface treated with silica.
CONSTITUTION: This rubber composition is obtained by blending (A) at least one cross-linkable rubber component with (B) a carbon black, having the surface treated with silica and prepared by sticking the silica to the surface thereof in an amount of preferably 10-200 pts.wt. based on 100 pts.wt. component (A). Furthermore, (C) a silane-based coupling agent (e.g. vinylytrichlorosilane) is blended in a blended amount S satisfying the formula [IA0 is the amount of adsorbed iodine of the component (B); IAf is the amount of the adsorbed iodine after treatment with hydrogen fluoride] based on the amount W of the blended component (B). Thereby, the silica content in the component (B) is preferably 0.1-50wt.% and a filler comprising ≥10wt.% component (B) and (D) a filler comprising ≥90wt.% carbon black is preferably blended in an amount of 30-120 pts.wt. based on 100 pts.wt. component (A).
