Abstract:

PURPOSE: To improve lubricity, wear resistance and flexibility of the bottom part, by a method wherein a foam sheet is made by cutting beforehand a foam having self-lubricity such as high-molecular weight polyethylene into a fixed thickness and width, the foam sheet is applied to the bottom part of a glass run made of rubber through an adhesive for the rubber and after performance of integral extrusion molding of the same along with a glass run main body, vulcanization treatment is performed.

CONSTITUTION: At the time of sliding of window glass, a foam sheet receiving great force with that moves the window glass up and down without resistance. Therefore, although it is necessary to give high wear resistance to make the coefficient of friction sufficiently low and lengthen its life, since the foam sheet 2 is formed by cutting the same into a desired thickness and width beforehand and stuck to the bottom 1b of a glass run main body 1, which responds sufficiently to the above requirement. Then even if the same is worn, since an opening part of the foam comes into point contact with the window glass 4, low sliding resistance is held always, heating is low and wear also becomes little that much. In addition, the foam sheet 2 is flexible and the window glass 4 is not damaged.
