Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a surface water intake device, which has an intake screen attached to a top surface opening of a back surface of a box-shaped water intake device body, to a device which does not decrease a water intake flow rate greatly even in winter in a cold district.SOLUTION: A water intake device, which has an intake screen 2 attached to a top surface opening of a back surface of a water intake device body in such a manner as to descend obliquely backward, takes surface water flowing in onto a screen surface. An opening 25, which is provided with eaves 24 with a side plate and opened only downward, is provided in the lower part of the intake screen. Structurally, sherbet-like ice and snow floating on a water surface 36 inside the water intake device body can be discharged from the opening.
