PURPOSE: To reproduce a natural surround feeling by approximating an acoustic space sonsisting of a direct sound and a reflected sound only by a time delay circuit and speakers which are arranged in front of a listener.
CONSTITUTION: This surround system consists of an input terminal 1, the time delay circuit 14, the lst speaker 7 which reproduces the direct sound, and the 2nd and 3rd speakers 21 and 22 which are connected in mutually opposite phase relation; and the opnin angle of the center axis of the directivity of the 2nd and 3rd speakers is almost 180° and the direction of the center axis of the directivity of the 1st speaker is set to the direction of an axis of symmetry nearly bisecting the opening angle. Consequently, the surrornd system which reproduces the natural surround feeling is realized.
