Abstract:
To provide a surrounding monitoring system capable of continuing a control without interfering with movement even when a detection is made that some of a plurality of pieces of imaging means mounted on a moving body are not in a normal state.SOLUTION: A surrounding monitoring system mounted on a vehicle, comprises first to fourth cameras 1a to 1d whose imaging areas overlap each other, and uses a captured image to control an autonomous driving of the vehicle. A camera state detection unit 2 determines whether or not states of the first to fourth cameras 1a to 1d are under normal states. An image processing unit 3 processes an acquired photographed image, and a recognition unit 4 executes recognition processing of a surrounding area of the vehicle based on the photographed image. When a photographed image corresponding to the imaging area of any one of the first to fourth cameras 1a to 1d cannot be acquired, a control unit 5 continues to control autonomous driving using a photographed image acquired by another camera whose imaging area overlaps with the photographed image of the camera.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
