To obtain a monitoring camera apparatus capable of unequivocally obtaining the setting of an extender and a zoom lens, and also, capable of presenting an easy-to-see zoom-controlled image by continuously performing zooming control at inserting/ejecting the extender.
The camera monitoring apparatus has the zoom lens equipped with the extender, and a control part for performing the driving control of the zoom lens and the extender, wherein the control part is provided with a focus setting table where it is determined that the insertion/ejection of the extender should be performed in accordance with an absolute focal position showing an apparent optical focal position and the interpolation should be performed in accordance with the insertion/ejection of the extender, and showing the focal position of the zoom lens, and the absolute focal position of the focus setting table is selected out of the absolute focal positions obtained by zooming instructions showing the movement of the zoom lens to the focal position, and the insertion/ejection of the extender and also the movement of the lens to the focal position are controlled in accordance with the selected absolute focal position.
