Abstract:
To lessen the bending moment acting on a strut.
A strut type suspension device 1 for a vehicle equipped with in-wheel motors 8 capable of driving vehicle wheels in independent rotation is structured so that a virtual king pin shaft 16 is threaded ahead of the vehicle more than the wheel center 17. Accordingly the moment owing to offset can be generated in the rotating direction of each wheel, i.e. oppositely to the moment generated when the applicable in-wheel motor 8 is operated, and as a result, the bending moment acting on the strut 3 can be lessened.
