Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain an aromatic mat, capable of slowly volatilizing essential oil ingredients and enjoying the pleasure of aromatic effects such as 'forest bathing' effects for an extremely long period.
CONSTITUTION: A mat containing ≥20wt.% core-sheath solid conjugate staple fibers is obtained by using a mixture of a nonpolar polyolefin with an olefinic copolymer having polar groups as a polymer in a core part for blending an essential oil and a polyester as a polymer in a sheath part. Since the disappearance of aromatic components in dyeing steps is reduced and the volatilizing rate of the aromatic components is regulated in use, stable aromatic effects can be enjoyed for a long period.
