To provide a sustained release tablet preparation containing bezafibrate with desirably prescribed persistency through simple manufacturing techniques.

This bezafibrate sustained release preparation is obtained by wet-granulating 1 pt.wt. of bezafibrate, 0.10-0.15 pt.wt. of lactose, 0.01-0.07 pt.wt. of hydroxypropylmethyl cellulose 2208 with a degree of methoxy substitution of 19.0-24.0% and a degree of hydroxypropoxy substitution degree of 4.0-12.0% on the dry basis, and 0.01-0.07 pt.wt. of hydroxypropylmethylcellulose 2910 with a degree of methoxy substitution of 28.0-30.0% and a degree of hydroxypropoxy substitution degree of 7.0-12.0% on the dry basis, admixing 0.01-0.03 pts.wt. of magnesium stearate to the resultant granules and making them tablets.
