PURPOSE: To obtain a sustained release suppressive agent for cerebral vasospasm, containing a suppressive substance for the cerebral vasospasm on a sustained release carrier, usable by the intracephalic embedding, capable of manifesting effects on a morbid state in which therapeutic effects cannot be expected by an intravenous administration, a drainage methods, etc., and excellent in persistence of pharmacodynamic effects.

CONSTITUTION: This sustained release suppressive agent for cerebral vasospasm usable by the intracephalic embedding is obtained by supporting (B) a suppressive agent for the cerebral vasospasm such as a calcitonin-related peptide or maxadilan on (A) a sustained release carrier containing a water-soluble polymer such as hydroxypropyl cellulose, fats and oils such as hardened oils or waxes and a fatty acid such as stearic acid. Furthermore, the suppressive agent is preferably a tablet type for arranging in the subarachnoid space and/or sulci on the cerebral surface.
