Abstract:
To provide suture thread effectively suppressing the occurrence of various troubles such as inflammation in an acute phase at the beginning of suture when suturing tissue or skin incised in a surgical operation or the like, while having functions generally requested as the suture thread, such as having appropriate tensile strength, being stretchable and not loosening nodes.
The suture thread is formed by forming a coating layer on the surface of a fiber material made of fluororesin, the surface of the fiber material has an atomic fraction of a fluorine atom measured by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, lower than that of the inside, and the coating layer contains a medicine and a biodegradable polymer.
