To provide a swimming aid which is effective for performing an efficient instruction.
This swimming aid is equipped with: a paddle having a plate-like first paddle section which is located on the sole surface of a user, and a plate-like second paddle section which is located in a vicinity of the ankle of the user; and a fixing means which fixes the paddle to the foot of the user. Then, the first and second paddle sections are connected at an angle of approximate 90°, and the fixing means has an elastic member. Thus, when the user performs a wrong leg movement, the user cannot feel a water pressure on the sole and the internal surface (heel side surface) of the foot. Therefore, the user can recognize a difference between a correct leg motion and a wrong leg motion in the breaststroke leg motion. Also, the fixing means (rubber strap) can be adjusted in such a manner that the swimming aid may be removed when a wrong leg motion is performed. As a result, in a present instruction site where one instructor instructs many students, the swimming aid can help the instruction to be efficiently performed.
