Abstract:
PURPOSE:To make it possible to perform the removal of a swing type thruster under water, by attaching a removable housing having an inner peripheral surface bearing the outer peripheral surface of a swing shaft, rotatably and slidably in the axial direction, to a hull. CONSTITUTION:When a device is removed from a hull, covers 17 are attached to housings 11, a lever 14 being removed from the inboard of the hull, after the housings 11 are temporarily fastened the hull at the under water side, and a cover 18 provided with a peeping hole is attached to the hull to remove bolts 12. After removing the bolts at the under-water side, a thruster including the housings is trasferred with its entirety at the under-water side. When the device is attached to the hull, the entire thruster is introduced into under water and is led to the attaching section thereof. Thereafter, the housings 11 are temporarily atttached to the hull by means of the bolts 16, and then, the housings are fastened by means of the bolts 12 at the inboard side of the hull. Next, water between covers 17, 18 is discharged through a valve 19. Further, the cover 18 is removed after the sealing condition is checked through the peeping window, and thereafter the lever 14 is attached to a swing shaft 14. Then a joint 13 is coupled to a prime mover 8.
