To provide a swirl combustion boiler capable of reducing generation of NOx by reducing high-temperature oxygen remaining region formed at an outer periphery of flame, by preventing or suppressing formation of a low-temperature region inside of the flame.
In this swirl combustion boiler in which a burner 20 for charging powdered coal and the air into a furnace, is composed of swirl combustion type burner sections respectively disposed at each of corner sections of each stage, and one or a plurality of swirl flames are formed in each stage, the burner 20 includes a powdered coal burner 21 to which the powdered coal and the primary air are charged, and secondary air charging ports 30 for charging the secondary air, disposed around the powdered coal burner 21, and the powdered coal burner 21 includes a secondary air port 24 in a fuel burner 2 for supplying a part of the secondary air to the primary air.
