To provide a switch device for operating a game machine, which is capable of providing a game player playing a game with a strong impact at the right moment.

A push button 6 is provided to work a switch 12 with a push. A movable body 7 surrounding the button 6 is emergeably/submergeably disposed in a fixing part 5a of the game machine. The body 7 and the button 6 are energized by a first spring 18 in a projection direction. A solenoid 21 the working rod 21a of which is provided with an engaging piece 22 is so disposed that the piece 22 advances or retreats in a direction intersecting at the body 7 and the button 6 at a right angle. An engagement part where the piece 22 engages with the body 7 is formed. Working the solenoid 21 disengages the body 7 from the piece 22, projecting the body 7 and the button 6 from the fixing part 5a of the game machine by resiliency of the first spring 18.
