Title:
SWITCH FOR OXIDE SUPERCONDUCTOR
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS63276282
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE:To accelerate the response of a switch by converting a superconducting state to a normal conducting state in accordance with the ON/OFF of an optical energy to heating means of a thermal conductive material provided on an oxide superconductor. CONSTITUTION:A uniform heating plate 2 of an SiC material is bonded to an oxide superconductor 1 in which powder of oxide of YBa2Cu3O7-delta is sintered. When an infrared light 4 is irradiated to the plate 2, a superconducting current does not flow, and its operation is turned OFF. When the light 4 is removed, the current again flows to turn ON the operation. Since the light is used as a heat source, the high speed responsiveness of a switch, reductions in the size and cost of the switch itself can be performed.
