To provide a switching device capable of downsizing the device in height and lateral directions and allowing a control knob to emit light.
A switching device includes: a control knob 1 having a display part 1e which can allow light to pass through; a lever 8 disposed on the control knob 1 so as to project downward; a substrate 11 disposed at the lower part of the control knob 1; a fixed contact point and an LED disposed on the substrate 11; a cylindrical shaft 2t disposed adjacent to the lever 8 just under the control knob 1, perpendicular to the substrate 11; a striker 5 engaged with the lever 8 and rotatable around the cylindrical shaft 2t; a movable contact point disposed on the striker 5; and a light guide 12 for guiding LED light. By swinging the control knob 1, the lever 8 allows the striker 5 to rotate so that the movable contact points contact with and separate from the fixed contact points. An opening part 5c is disposed on the striker 5 for opening into the cylindrical shaft 2t, and the light guide 12 is extended from the opposing position of the LED and passed through from the opening part 5c to a hollow part 2d of the cylindrical shaft 2t, in order to face the inside of the control knob 1.
