Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a switching power supply having a power factor improvement circuit, capable of stably ensuring a control voltage while suppressing power consumption, in a standby mode.SOLUTION: A switching power supply 1 includes: a control winding L2 magnetically coupled to an inductor L1 provided at a power factor improvement circuit 20; a capacitor C5 charged by a voltage generated at the control winding L2; and a controller 40 operated by a voltage across the capacitor C5 and switching-controlling a switching element Q1 provided at the power factor improvement circuit 20. The controller 40 switching-controls the switching element Q1 in a standby mode to set an electric current running through the switching element Q1 to be a predetermined value larger than zero and controlling an off width of the switching element Q1.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
