CONSTITUTION: This device is provided with a difference synchronization addition means 6 for calculating the absolute value of a difference between the symbol intervals of an envelope of squares R at respective sample positions, cumulatively adding the calculated result N (N: a positive integer) times for respective symbol periods and outputting M pieces of added results S0-SM-1 depending on the sample positions, and a minimum value detection means 7 for detecting a minimum value in the added results S0-SM-1 and outputting the sample position of the added result as the information on the symbol identification point. Since the absolute value of the difference of the square envelopes between the respective symbol identification points becomes approximately zero, in the case of cumulatively adding the difference fixed times in the symbol period at the respective sample positions, the cumulative addition value at the sample position corresponding to the symbol identification point becomes minimum. The minimum value of the cumulative addition value is detected and the symbol identification point is obtained.
