Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain the subject deriv. for an artificial sweetener in an industrially advantageous manner by selectively reacting sucrose with 1,3-di(hydrocarbyloxy)-1,1,3,3-tetra(hydrocarbyl)distannoxane.
CONSTITUTION: Sucrose and 1,3-(hydrocarbyloxy)-1,1,3,3-tetra-(hydrocarbyl) distannoxane are reacted under a temp. and time condition sufficient to form 1,3-di-(6-O-sucrose)-1,1,3,3-tetra(hydrocarbyl)distannoxane to obtain the objective sucrose derivative regioselectively. This product is reacted with an acylating agent to form a sucrose-6-ester.
