Abstract:
PURPOSE:To incorporate a function which forms a detailed state with use of a rule and a library application function as a part of a general-purpose logic synthesizing device by unifying said two functions. CONSTITUTION:The title device consists of a rule base part 1 storing rules, a library part 2 where the circuits designed in the past are registered, a temporary memory part 3 which holds the input specifications and the interim result of synthesization of said specifications, an inference mechanism part 4 where the rules are selected and executed, an input part 5 for the specifications of a multi-function computing element, and an output part 6 for the result of synthesization. The part 1 stores the conditions for formation of a detailed state of said computing element and the fetching of circuits out of the library as well as the handwritten rules. Then the part 1 applies a rule group which performs the formation of a detailed state and then the application of a rule group which performs the fetching of circuits out of the library. Thus the part 4 can be connected to a general-purpose logic synthesizing device as an interface.
