Abstract:

To provide a method for synthesizing acridones simply and in a high yield capable of readily composing a library on acridones.

The method comprises reacting halogenobenzoic acids represented by formula (1) (wherein X shows a halogen atom, R shows a hydrocarbon group and the benzene ring may have a substituted group) with anilines represented by formula (2) (wherein the benzene ring may have a substituted group) in the presence of a polymer fixed palladium catalyst to form a coupling compound represented by formula (3) (wherein R shows that described before and two benzene rings show those described before), after conducting them to an ester decomposing reaction, conducting aminobenzoic acids of formula (4) (wherein two benzene rings show those described before) to a ring formation reaction by a intramolecular acylation in the presence of a scandium catalyst.
