PURPOSE: To provide a synthetic gut blank having excellent repulsive force and durability, the impact absorbability, spinnability and ball hitting feel similar to those of natural gut and excellent long-term stability of performance.

CONSTITUTION: This synthetic gut blank consists of a graft polymer obtd. by heating a polyamide resin and styrene elastomer modified by a maleic acid anhydride to melt and blend both, thereby chemically bonding the amino group of the former to the maleic acid anhydride of the latter. The blank has the excellent strength and durability of the polyamide resin and the rubber elasticity of the modified styrene elastomer in combination, by which the excellent repulsive force and durability are obtd. and the impact absorbability, spinnability and ball hitting feel more approximate to those of the natural gut than the conventional synthetic gut are obtd. In addition, the excellent long-term stability of the performance is obtd. as well.
