PURPOSE: To provide the laminate, having texture similar to that of natural leather and excellent in high-class feeling by covering one surface or peripheral end face of a substrate of a laminate made of a synthetic resin with a thin colored ground sheet having enamel-like gloss.

CONSTITUTION: A thin ground sheet made of a synthetic resin, tinted with a specific color and having enamel-like gloss is arranged on an upper layer of a substrate made of the synthetic resin and a metallic mold of a specific shape to which a high-frequency voltage is applied is pressed from the side of the ground sheet. Thereby, the resultant laminate is cut into a shape corresponding to that of the metallic mold by fusion to cover the peripheral part of the substrate with the peripheral end of the ground sheet. As a result, the synthetic leather laminate excellent in high-class feeling close to that of natural leather is obtained.
