Abstract:
To provide synthetic quartz glass powder for the manufacture of high quality synthetic quarts glass molded body showing extremely little foaming in a high temperature region such as during melt molding.
The synthetic quartz glass powder is obtained by baking silica gel obtained by a sol-gel reaction. In the powder, the number of particles emitting fluorescent light by irradiation of UV rays is ≤10/g.
